In terms of its remoteness, superb wilderness quality, spectacular scenic beauty and living cultural landscape, the Mnweni area offers a unique blend of opportunities for all.

A combination of traditional hospitality in the true spirit of ubuntu amidst the grandeur of mountains, which can offer you any of the following:

Swimming

There are numerous beautiful rivers (some with trout) and pools, some only a few hundred metres away from the Centre and also along hiking routes.

Horse Riding

Riding on local horses can be arranged.

Mountain Bike Riding

The area offers mountain bikers with many options for short out and back gravel road rides or a circular route that goes over Woodstock dam and back to the centre.

Bird Watching

The Drakensberg offers unique birding opportunities which are normally undertaken during day or overnight hikes in the area.

Cultural Activities

Homestead visits, accommodation, traditional meals, dancing can be arranged with the manager or guides - early booking essential.

Visits to Rock Art Sites

Hire a local Amafa accredited rock art custodian/s (obligatory) to guide you to rock art sites open to the public in the area.

Mountaineering

For the adventurous - the areas contain historical mountaineering caves with breath-taking views, challenging climbing routes and the most rugged terrain in the Drakensberg.
